No internet access for Jo today so i’m posting for her (Rachel). She said the boys are doing fine. They loaded and left at 5.30 am, next stop Jerez which is the venue for the Sunshine Tour – so last leg of a very long journey.

Had a good night sleep although raining we can feel the difference in temperature it’s getting warmer. Boys temperature was perfect this morning so we loaded and left at 7.25 Brennus loaded first time he finds it easier to turn around. Zaino jumps into position on the back determined not to be left behind he has taken on the senior role to brennus it’s so funny ! We treated ourselves to a big double chocolate muffin for breakfast and are driving through mountains now.

We have travelled another 622 kms today in fairly bad weather. It’s pouring rain and wind made driving that little more difficult. Boys are fine travelled well, the stables here have really tall doors so the boys look like a couple of ponies ! Zaino seems to have taken on the role of looking after Brennus he is being very confident andgrown up about it all whereas Brennus is a little less self assured. Stables here are expensive 78 euro vs 50 euro total for stables yesterday. We spent 180 on diesel and 91 on tolls ! Total cost so far minus ferry is 721.60 euro and we are about half way ! Thank you all for your good luck texts sorry I cannot reply, hence blog ! Going to cook a spag bol tonight well reheat mum already cooked it and made a first class job at keeping us well stocked with good healthy food and of course the odd chocolate treat for phil along with the flap jacks and bannana cake that Hetty kindly provided !

We had a good night sleep albeit a little cold we were up at 6am fed the boys and had porridge for breakfast yum! We took temperatures and put activo med rug on both boys for 20 mins and started loading for 7.30am had problems with Brennus who decided he forgot how to turn his bottom around once in the lorry !!! Zaino consequently got frustrated wanting to get on with his second day of adventures ! Finally we changed the horses around and are on our way ……………

Sunday 5.45am horses loaded arrived Dover 2 hours later. Paperwork no problem and on the boat for 8.10 arrived in Calais at 10.45 local time horses were very good. 728 kms later we arrived in Blois at 18.20. We spent 229 euro on diesel and 93.60 euro on tolls. The truck is amazing it drives very easy I drove all the way accept for 2 hours when phil needed feeding so he drove so I could make his lunch !!! Phil was very very tired yesterday but much better today ! Horses travelled brilliantly and were not tired at all I took their temperatures which were perfect. I cooked king prawns for dinner and we watched a DVD and then went to bed 10pm shattered !

Farriers been, health papers done! We are ready to go leaving tomorrow morning at 6am.
Thank you everybody for all your help, and good luck cards, special thank you to Rachel who cleaned the boys up and cleaned all the tack today and did the yard for me a lunchtime !

Manic day today, clipped BB well sort of ! Got most of it off but need his head doing and legs tidying up, didn’t get to ride the boys today ! But a day off after 3 days training with Sarah will do them no harm ! Mum busy sewing union jack flags on jacket and numnah’s. Watch the last frantic days coming up !

Sarah was interested to acknowledge the change in Zaino M she said he was much softer in his back, a real difference seen in his attitude. Our training session today worked on Zaino M Canter concentrating on keeping him more connected and through whilst staying forward and confident!

Had two fantastic lessons with Sarah today in our preparations for Spain, despite the awful weather it was first time at Sarah’s for Brennus and he behaved and stayed focused (most of the time)! Sarah gave us some great tips on keeping him connected and over the back and making him rounder so he doesn’t get too tired.
