BB only needs 1 more point to Qualify for the winter regionals. Having spent the summer competing in the 5 year old classes, I wanted to qualify BB for the Novice winter regionals which we set out to do in September. Having achieved this quite quickly we thought we would attempt to qualify for the elementary as well, and now are just one point short and running out of time, cut off date is end of November.

Zaino ongoing training is amazing ! With Sarah’s help he is becoming much more understanding of his job and he and I are enjoying our progress. We are very much looking forward to our next competition (not decided where yet) ! Meanwhile BB has been out and about at various shows Novice and Elementary ! Mostly he has been the perfect gentlemen !

I am so pleased with our progression since being in training with Sarah, we came home for a week while Sarah and HP went off to Samur (they did brill 3rd in GP). I was very nervous when returned home, as I wondered if Zaino would be difficult with the change of environment! He was the exact opposite ! I continued with our training exercises that Sarah had taught us, and tried to imagine Sarah in the school shouting instructions, it worked he was even more confident. Zaino and I are really enjoying our challenges together and I feel we are a true partnership. Today we returned to Sarah’s to build on what we have learnt together and our lesson today was very positive. We will keep you posted on how it goes ! So far so good ! PSG here we come X

Both foals were graded with Harry now called (Giggles) as he is a laugh a minute ! at 68 % they were really well behaved and both foals move brilliantly.

BB is such a special horse, we had a great day today at Oldencraig he achieved over 72% in his Novice test and has qualified for the Winter Regionals at Hartpury in April 2012 and scored over 71% in his first elementary. He was a little bit tired in the second test but it doesn’t matter he never stops trying for me, whatever I ask he tries his little heart out, I feel so lucky to have him.

We have decided to change Zaino saddle from his current Amerigo to a Passier because Sarah noticed in canter the saddle made him sometimes tight in the back. The difference is really noticeable Zaino seems to be alot softer in the back with the Passier and I also find this saddle more comfortable to ride in it gives greater support to your leg position. I am also going to change BB saddle as well.

We took Zaino back to Sarah’s today to continue our training, our lesson was awesome albeit I ache just a little bit. We focused on getting Zaino hind legs through more and over the back although he found it difficult he never stopped trying the feeling was amazing ! I really enjoy my training with Sarah and the difference it is making to Zaino and myself is very clear to see, Zaino is not the easiest at times but Sarah knows exactly what techniques to train us and buttons to push at the right time and its really working. I am so excited about our future I know Zaino and I are going to be a great partnership with Sarah’s help!

Our training with Sarah really has helped Zaino become more confident in the areana. He is able to stay into a more confident contact now and it was a pleasure to ride him. I am very excited about our future as I believe Zaino will perform much better in the bigger classed PSG here we come ! Back to Sarah’s for some more training in September I can’t wait!
