I was a little nervous at Merrist Wood Show last Saturday, as I wanted to build on our good mark but equally I was conscious not to ask too much from Zaino and risk losing his confidence. Its a fine line when you are warming up too much and he could explode not enough and I wouldn’t have enough hind leg to do the test. Especially as he is so young and still developing those muscles, I timed it just about right although we stood at the entrance of the arena for about 5 mins waiting for the judges to return, this worked out in our favour as it just gives him time to relax. He did a very good test but not without mistakes, 13 one times changes instead of 11 ! and a short change out of the extension ! Still plenty to work on ! Throughout the winter we will work on his strength and hope to Grand Prix next year !
